Our Work
Youth Healthcare Alliance is committed to establishing and expanding well-equipped and highly effective school-based healthcare in high-need communities.
Our work centers around creating equitable access for all youth to lead healthy and productive lives.
Every child, family, and community deserves quality and effective care. The school-based healthcare model provides communities with comprehensive, integrated care that is accessible, convenient, and offers additional critical benefits.

In addition to our ongoing advocacy efforts, the work of Youth Healthcare Alliance is guided by our strategic plan.
CURRENT PROJECTS INCLUDE
Ensuring the Success and Sustainability of School-Based Clinics

School-based clinics are the core of our organization, and we work to make sure they are successful and always grow to meet the needs of their communities.

We work with existing school-based clinics to continually raise the bar and increase integration of services across primary care, behavioral health, and oral health.

Each year, we convene Colorado school-based clinics and partners at our Annual Conference. This event allows us to share knowledge and resources, and provide networking opportunities so attendees can learn from each other.
Committed Allyship for Equity for Communities

Healthcare inequities are exacerbated for youth with intersecting identities as people of color. These young people experience disproportionately high rates of suicide, violence, mental health challenges, and poverty-related illness. This simply can’t continue. We also commit to this work with a strengths-based approach in elevating the assets that exist in these same communities.

Health Equity

We share tools and engage our school-based health partners in understanding the different areas of health equity to ensure that school-based clinics always aim to be welcoming spaces where patients of all identities feel they belong. We also challenge cultures and structures within Youth Healthcare Alliance and within our policy infrastructure to make sure that both contexts become increasingly equitable.
