Call for Session & Workshop Speakers

This year’s theme is “Rewriting the Story: Improving the Landscape of Colorado Youth Healthcare,” with the idea in mind that the uncertainty in the healthcare system as we know it provides an opportunity to assess strengths and needs, find creative solutions, and center SBHCs in the narrative. This conference will allow us to unpack many of these different issues, while recognizing that we have the capability to seize opportunities and manage change effectively.

We are seeking presenters on topics connected to the conference theme that relate to the work and needs of school-based clinics and the youth they serve. We encourage submissions that include school-based clinic staff and youth perspectives. Please review the Request for Proposals for more detail and submit your session proposals through our online form by January 23, 2026.

New this year, YHA will also be organizing 90-minute interactive, multi-presenter workshops on additional topics and will be recruiting presenters for those through individual outreach. If you have an interest in presenting any of the topics below (which are subject to change) in the workshop format, please reach out to Rebecca or Aubrey and we will follow up with you directly.

  • Youth engagement

  • School relationships / awareness of the SBHC / marketing

  • Integrated care when seeing specific overlapping concerns (e.g., headaches, GI issues, eating disorders, reproductive health, vaccine hesitancy, substance use) and billing for these services

Conference Details for Attendees

This year's conference will have a different format than years past. The general format for 2026 is as follows:

  • April 28 - YHA's Conference begins in the afternoon for half-day at Courtyard

  • April 29 - YHA's Conference continues for full day

  • April 30 - CDPHE grantees will convene at CDPHE offices down the street from Courtyard for all-grantee meeting in the morning and SBIRT MITEY training in the afternoon

Conference registration will open in February. YHA  encourages all organizations to renew their YHA membership for 2026 as soon as possible in order to access conference discount codes before the time of conference registration. Any discounts not taken will be received as a donation for Youth Healthcare Alliance -- we do not have the capacity to administer partial refunds.

A more detailed conference agenda will be available soon. Check back for updates!

Attendees will be able to receive continuing medical education and continuing education (CME/CEs) credits through Weitzman Institute for various professional associations. Details for submitting for CME/CE and obtaining documentation for them will be provided as part of the conference program. (Note: CME/CEs are not provided for CDPHE-hosted sessions after the YHA conference concludes on April 29).
